The ideas of Edward O. Wilson are definitely thought provoking and awe inspiring. . .if you can get past his monologues about insects. This book really did delve into the idea behind how important diversity is and what humans are doing that impacts it. The difficult thing about reading this book is Wilson's in depth discussions about insects (I'm talking textbook details). If you can get past the specific names of numerous insects, the point that Wilson comes across really has you thinking about our planet and how we should be treating it vs. how we are really treating it. Over all, a decent read that does address some important issues at hand when dealing with environmental science.
