The Ecology of Commerce is an informative book. I would recommend it, because it lays out all of the ways that our everyday life has and impact on the planet.
The Ecology of Commerce by Paul Hawken was deserving of a **** star. It is very informative in regards to connecting political and marketing ideas to environmental issues. However, the book becomes tedious at times and has over complex verbiage on occasions. Good but not great read... Puts things in perspective.
The Ecology of Commerce was a good, and very imforative book that deserves **** star rating. The reason it doesn't deserve five stars is because it became boring and repetitve in what it said so that the information would stick in your mind. Read it if you want things told how they are.
I would give "The Ecology of Commerce" a four star rating. It contains excellent points about the relationships between economy and ecology. It presents problems with the modern ways of business such as prices not representing all the environmental costs involved with producing a product. The reason I do not give the book a five star rating is because while the book does propose solutions to many of the problems it presents, I don't feel like it provides enough detail about how those solutions would be executed. I do recommend this book, especially to those who want to own a business, are interested in economics, or both.
